Description
Orange tulips at Keukenhof, or the Garden of Europe in Lisse, the Netherlands, not far from Amsterdam.
The garden’s location was once used as hunting grounds during the 15th century. The area was also a great source for herbs, which were often used in the kitchen of Jacqueline, Countess of Hainaut’s castle. It is for this reason that the garden earned the name Keukenhof - "Kitchen garden".
Approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park with a total of 800 varieties of tulips, which covers an area of 32 hectares (79 acres).
It's breathtaking!
