Description
The Heidelberg Castle ruins in Heidelberg, Germany, was described by Mark Twain in his 1880 travel book "A Tramp Abroad" and was a Johann Wolfgang Goethe's favorite place to visit.
Powder Turret, or Cabbage Tower (Krautturm), or Blown Tower (Gesprengter Turm) with 6.5 meter thick walls used to be a storage for gun powder, and was blasted in 1693 by order of a French General during the Nine Years' War. It looks like a gigantic puzzle piece waiting to be assembled.
