Description
Red doors of the Église du-Béguinage, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, an elegant Flemish Baroque church in Brussels, Belgium.
This church is the last remain of the Béguinage Notre-Dame de la Vigne, founded in the 13th century.
The church originally served as the center for the béguines, who lived in houses clustered around it. The Beguines were lay women who lived a communal life but were not bound by perpetual vows.
The facade of the church is considered one of the most beautiful in Belgium.
