Description
Le Petit-Château by the Canal in Brussels, Belgium.
The name derived from the 16th-century mansion that once stood on the site.
This Neo-Tudor building was constructed by Mathieu Bernard, a Captain of the Engineers, in the mid-19th century and was hosting the Carabineers and the Fusiliers of the 9th Regiment of the Line, and then was turned into a prison for wartime collaborators.
In 1986 the barracks were converted into a reception center for asylum-seekers.
Third place in the "White Lightning" contest hosted by Teresa Trotter 10/08/2019.
